DTG, direct to garment printing, is one of our most popular printing techniques. As specialists in garment and merchandise printing, we use a variety of printing methods, each with their own benefits. This article will discuss DTG: its benefits, how it is eco-friendly and how we can help with your eco-friendly printing needs.
What is DTG and What are the Benefits?
DTG or Direct to Garment printing is the process by which you print directly onto the material of the garment or merchandise. This technique is long lasting, offers incredible print quality and can accommodate a large array of colours. There are no set up costs (which will occur with screen printing), which make this option both effective and affordable for short and long runs so, you won’t be disappointed!
However, it’s important to note that DTG cannot be used on polyester garments. Cotton garments are always recommended in this case.
How is DTG Eco-Friendly?
Print Eco pride themselves on using innovative methods so we remain as eco-friendly as possible. We use state of the art Kornit Printers, the only DTG printer with integrated pre-treatment. All inks are water-based and meet OEKOTEX and GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) standards.
On top of this, we do not use any plastics in packaging and promote the use of organic clothing. Our machines are only ever powered when in use, which reduces our overall electricity consumption.
Other Printing Methods
If DTG doesn’t suit your printing needs, then don’t panic! We also offer screen printing, a technique whereby ink is pressed through a stencilled mesh screen. This is great for graphics with one or two colours and where larger quantities are needed.
Embroidery is our other technique; this is the art of transferring your design onto a surface using threads. The main advantage of embroidery is the professional, high-quality result you will achieve and durability after production. You can choose from a large variety of thread colours and create vivid, bold designs.
